COVID-19 Safety & Screening Protocols at EVOLVE
Screening and Safety Measures
To ensure safety for our patients and our staff during the pandemic, we continue to implement several safety measures at EVOLVE.
Rapid Testing:
Patients undergoing an egg freezing cycle at EVOLVE will receive a complimentary rapid test. You’ll be notified by one of our staff members in advance of your scheduled visit to the clinic.
Your rapid test appointment will be approximately 30 minutes before your first blood test and/or ultrasound appointment with us.
Screening:
- You will be pre-screened via email before your appointment
- You will have an additional screening in person when you check in for your appointment, including having your temperature taken once you arrive at EVOLVE
Social Distancing:
- For your safety, we must limit the number of people in the clinic
- For each visit, you will be given a specific time to come to the clinic. Please come only at that time.
Personal Protection:
- You will be asked to wear a mask (PPE) provided by EVOLVE while you are at the clinic. This mask will cover your nose and your mouth
- Please use the hand sanitizer provided during your visit
- Nurses, doctors and lab technicians will be in full PPE during in-person appointments
- The staff on-site at EVOLVE have been fully vaccinated
Waiting Room:
- Chairs in our waiting room are spaced out to accommodate social distancing. This area is sanitized by our cleaning staff regularly throughout the day, every day.
- We have plexiglass barriers at screening stations and reception areas for added safety and protection
- We will be sanitizing high touch areas in the clinic throughout the day and have extra cleaning measures in place
- Nurses, doctors and lab technicians are in full PPE during in-person patient interactions
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How will I know if I require rapid testing?
A: If you require a rapid test, you’ll be notified by one of our staff members in advance of your scheduled visit to the clinic.
Q: Who, exactly, requires rapid testing?
A: Only patients undergoing an egg freezing cycle require rapid testing. Our staff will also be tested every two weeks.
Q: Will I be late for my ultrasound or blood draw appointment?
A: Your rapid test appointment will be approximately 30 minutes before your first blood test and/or ultrasound appointment with us.
Q: What exactly happens in this rapid test?
A: The rapid test is a simple nasal swab. After you’ve had this test, you’ll wait 15 minutes for the result.
Q: What if my test is positive for COVID?
A: If you test positive for COVID in the rapid test, you’ll have to leave the clinic and go directly home to book a follow-up test. Although very good, rapid tests are not quite as accurate as lab-based PCR tests. So, if you do test positive on the rapid test, you’ll be required to get a follow-up PCR test done at one of the hospital-based testing clinics to confirm the result.
Q: Can a friend or family member come with me to my egg retrieval?
A: Because of new social distancing regulations, we have to limit the number of people in the clinic. When you are having your egg retrieval, you can have a friend or family member wait in the recovery room, but they cannot come into the operating room.
